TORCH Toxoplasma Gondii IgG(Toxo IgG) Reagents for Automatic Immunoassay Analyzer in Human Serum Samples from China manufacturer - ZECEN Bio
Toxoplasma gondii (Toxo) is a protozoan that widely parasitizes in cells and can cause damage to various organs and tissues. The main infection routes are contact with cats, dogs or other animals infected with Toxoplasma gondii and consumption of contaminated raw eggs, raw milk, raw meat, etc. Toxoplasmosis, also known as toxoplasmosis, is often a latent infection or subclinical process in humans. After a person is infected with Toxoplasma gondii, antibodies appear in the serum, which can be determined by detecting IgM and IgG antibodies in the serum. Generally, IgM antibodies are produced first, followed by IgG antibodies. The IgM antibody titer gradually drops to a lower level soon after reaching the peak, while the IgG antibody basically stabilizes at a higher titer after reaching the peak and lasts for a longer period of time. IgG antibody is a good indicator for diagnosing primary infection, active infection, and even intrauterine infection caused by Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnant women.
Clinical Significance
1. Positive anti-T. gondii IgG antibody (but titer ≤1:512), and positive IgM antibody indicates subsequent infection with Toxoplasma gondii.
2. A positive Toxoplasma IgG antibody titer ≥1:512 and/or a positive IgM antibody ≥1:32 indicates recent Toxoplasma infection. A more than 4-fold increase in serum IgG antibody titers in both acute and convalescent phases also indicates recent Toxoplasma infection.
3. The Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody is negative, but the IgM antibody is positive. The IgM antibody is still positive after the RF latex adsorption test, so consider the existence of a window period. Check the Toxoplasma gondii IgG and IgM antibodies again after two weeks. If the IgG is still negative, regardless of the IgM result, it can be judged that there is no subsequent infection or recent infection.
