Thyroglobulin (TG) detection kit (CLIA) (hereinafter referred to as the kit) is used for the in vitro quantitative determination of thyroglobulin (TG) in human serum. For patients with congenital hypothyroidism, TG assay can identify the thyroid defect, hypoplasia or other pathological conditions. It is also can be as auxiliary diagnosis for subacute thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism, Graves disease and other diseases as well as monitoring of differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients after thyroidectomy.
Thyroglobulin is the storage form of thyroid hormone, which is a dimeric glycosylation iodide protein, with molecular weight of about 660KD, composed of two identical 330KD subunits connected together by a disulfide bond composition. TG is synthezied in thyroid cells, which is secreted into the interior follicles. TG, iodine deficiency and thyroid body thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin and other factors can stimulate thyroglobulin production. Thyroglobulin plays a decisive role in the synthesis of T3 and T4. Only a very small amount of thyroglobulin is secreted into the blood circulation, TG concentration is mainly determined by three factors, namely the size of the thyroid gland, the extent of damage and impact of thyroid hormone.
